Did you know that each day of the week takes its name from a planet? If you’d like to take the first step to align your intentions and actions with the energy of a specific planet then this post will show you how to do this simply and effortlessly.

The key is to set an intention and undertake actions linked to that planet on its day, and these can be as small or large as you wish. However, doing so will unite you with that planet’s drive.

First of all, let’s see which planets link to which days. In ancient times the days were named after gods and goddesses, all of whom were associated with particular planets. These planets are visible in the night sky and myths about the planets and gods were born, many of which have come down to us today.

The first two days of the week, Sunday and Monday, are named after the Sun and Moon whilst Tuesday’s name derives from Tyr, the Norse god of bravery and is associated with the planet Mars.

Wednesday takes its title from Woden, the Anglo-Saxon god of cleverness and wisdom which echoes the astrological characteristics of the nimble planet Mercury.

Thursday’s name comes from Thor, the Norse god of strength (Jupiter), whilst Friday derives from Freya (Venus), the planet of love and beauty. Saturday rounds off the week, fitting with the planet Saturn’s connection with boundaries and thresholds.

Below are examples of how to align with the planets every single day:

Sunday is a day of illumination which reveals your inner potential and lets it shine out to the world. The Sun represents your life force and sense of who you truly are, as well as who you can be, and will provide endless energy for advancing you in your own unique way.

Monday can be a good day for letting your imagination take flight and connecting with the Moon’s feminine power. She may well have some intriguing insights to share with you about your emotions.

Pick Tuesdays for tasks that can be completed swiftly and advance your aspirations as Mars provides your get-up-and-go and determination to achieve.

Wednesday is a wonderful day for thinking about how you navigate your life and ease worry and stress. Mercury can guide you along this pathway with insights and wisdom.

Thursdays are ideal for increasing your faith, trust and vision in yourself and the universe as Jupiter, king of the gods, calls you to lift up your eyes and treat life as an adventure.

Fridays provide the opportunity to align with your inner goddess. Venus encourages you to share your desire to create beauty, love and abundance and show you ways of increasing your self-worth.

Saturday rounds off the week by granting the chance to reflect on inner blocks and obstacles to your progress. Saturn can help you restructure your life effectively in a way that gives stable support for your plans, as well as the chance to take time out.
